Re: about the credentials and my dyslexia research.

Hi, I got good news
I just got the job as a tech writer in NeiHu. The salary is pretty good to me. So I must go and start my career and maintain my life by the income. 
But I still got something to handle at NCCU this semester. 

My questions are:
1. 我可以在這學期通過教程的要求後,休學。然後四上復學開始完成教程嗎?我知道修業年限是四年。所以三下(可能期中)休學的情況,我是還有一年半可用嗎?
2. 我正在找指導老師,可曾有前例是研究生修完所有畢業學分後,白天全職,但偶爾請假回學校處理事情,然後順利畢業的?我想要一些信心增強我能夠完成這種問題的安全感。尤其我很想把我設計的轉盤能夠拿到專利並在研究所畢業後量產,可以申請到之後的學術研究生涯,以及獲得產品的實戰經驗。可這表示我必須在這半年內找到公司獲得研究支持,畢竟政大沒有雷射切割機或CNC車床這種東西。

以我的地利之便是鴻海,以風氣可能是華碩。我知道學校(以我們英文系來說)可能從來沒有這樣的和科技業界的產學合作前例,但我是蠻特別的,這組裝置會開啟學校心腦中心、資科系和心理系與語言系所全新的面貌。希望學校能重視我的特殊才能和聯覺特質(synesthesia)。我曾和心腦中心通信,但一兩次簡短回應後就石沉大海,沒有人願意理我。今年三月底的心腦中心會議我有機會和butterworth先生面對面談話,他從一年多之前就知道我的特殊聯覺(英文句法和觸覺),他本人專用fMRI做數學障礙研究。 他是學校心腦中心的國外顧問,也許我需要他才能獲得學校心腦中心的許可,當作測試者被測量我的腦部觸覺反應區塊。

等我拿到合約,我會再來和學校或老師談技轉或專利的金錢分配問題。畢竟我需要用到學校的眼動裝置或fMRI機器來量化證實我的裝置成果,回饋給學校和其他學者是應該的。

3. 承上,可曾有特殊情況是允許修教程的學生,不用到場上課。我知道這要求很奇怪…不過那些課程簡直是浪費時間。我如果有前景薪水都不錯的全職工作,何必為了這些課程放棄?但我確實需要那張證書,說服力會更強。從過去在板橋高中和過嶺國中教書的經驗我知道我比起學校裡面的老老師還要有創造力和同理心多了,我會照顧語言閱讀障礙的學生。不應該被埋沒在體制裡,而是應該把我的成果給任何需要的人。更何況,閱讀障礙的人口佔總人口至少有10%。這是很大的教育和學術研究市場。
我會親自跟每位老師溝通我的狀況和研究內容。
4. 我正在研究p值。希望三月結束之前能有一些成果。

Thank you for useful information.

I am considering the best option. It might be keep on studying in the campus with the teachers' trainee program. (A time consuming and stupid program I knew). I will do the best I can do. 

The jobs I interviewed do not response. I need more time and luck for landing on a tech writer job.
Meanwhile I am looking for an adviser. 
All these takes time and luck. I just need to work faster and pray.

附件是這學期的相關行事曆先給你,你可以先依照你的狀況作決定。
基本上你課修完之後,就可以申報論文題目,
申報的路徑是政大首頁→INCCU→校務系統WEB版→學生資訊系統→論文題目申報,
你填寫完系統之後要印出來請指導教授簽名,再交給我即可。
要論文口試的當學期繳費即可,其他學期你可以辦理休學。
所以這學期你要辦理休學嗎?還是?
另附上英教組的修讀辦法給你參考。

「畢業學分修完畢,只要有繳學費,把論文完成並通過口試即可」

Looking for an adviser on discussing dyslexia research

Hi, Prof. Yu

It's been a while since I last wrote you.
I've been working on dyslexia research for sometime, and designed a special multi-layered, dial-like plates for teaching abstract English syntax.
I work on the plate based on at least two hypothesis (synesthesia and function over meaning training esp. for analytic language) , and I wish to measure its effectiveness via eye-tracking machines.
I had done the pilot study on it, but I got some contradictory results due to the missing of some critical controlled factors.


Yes, I have synesthesia for syntax (POS) and tactile feelings. I only knew I was special just 1.5 years ago. Then I starts to work on man-triggered synesthesia for syntax, by the use of mnemonic devices and my designed plates. 
That's why I try to build such a project and see if I can help the dyslexia students. At least 10% of our entire population have dyslexia. But they hide from formal treatment (which is obvious useless for them). I had taught two dyslexia kids with my method and it turned out to be pretty good. I got evidence and longitudinal and quantified records for my words. 

This is still a promising study, and I am looking for funds for it. It will take sometime before ASUS, Pegatron, Foxcoon, and HTC to reject my proposal on building a more life-like prototype. But They'll be interested in this since all of the elements and techniques are available now. 

It's time to build an app or device like this and grab the market of education and neuro-tech. 
the grammar checker software, built in micro chips, little motors for providing vibration, and all the other elements that fit for building the device.
I have been trying to contact some of the possible investors to help me with it.

I happen to have to return dvds to the library tomorrow.
